This thankfully rare gremlin is particularly hard to contain due to its sheer physical strength. Utmost care must be taken on the wards as they are often capable of breaking any physical containment.
Psychology/Protection
The destructive Shatter Bug is likely to be the most expensive infestation that you can have. They love nothing more than breaking LCD screens on phones and watches. Thankfully, they prefer to target items that have been left on the floor as they are incapable of flight.
Always ensure that electronic devices are not left on the ground and ensure that phones are kept zipped inside a purse or wrapped inside a jacket when out drinking.
Habitat
These creatures are nomadic hunters, rarely staying in one place for long. Normally they will target bedrooms hoping for a phone carelessly abandoned careless. However, I have observed a number that haunt clubs and bars looking for dropped phones and then quite happily hitch a lift home with the most drunken smart phone owner they can find.
Appearance
Like the Paper Cut Fairy, these gremlins can be quickly identified by the oversized weapon they carry. Unlike their distant cousins, it is always a blunt weapon they create.
Although some people assume that Shatter Bug is most closely related to the pixel thief, it is actually a direct descendant of the Mirror Cracker.
